Gather up everything you need to make your drink. Make sure that the champagne has been chilled.
Fill your cocktail shaker with ice.
Measure out 1 oz of Gin with the jigger and pour it into the shaker.
Measure out .5 oz of Simple Syrup with the jigger and pour it into the shaker.
Measure out .5 oz of Lemon Juice with the jigger and pour it into the shaker.
Put the top on the shaker and shake it up well. The outside of the shaker should get cold to the touch.
Remove the top and put the strainer on the top of the shaker. Pour it into the champagne flute.
Measure out 2 oz of Champagne with the jigger and pour it into the flute.note: alternatively, you can top skip measuring the champagne and just top the flute off. optional garnish - cut a twist of the lemon peel and add it to the rim of the flute.
