Cranberry Mule

Equipment

  • Copper Mug
  • jigger
  • bar spoon
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • cocktail shaker

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 2 oz Cranberry Juice
  • 3 oz Gingerbeer
  • .5 oz Lime Juice
  • Mint Leaves optional garnish
  • Ice

Instructions
 

  • Get together everything necessary for the drink.
  • Fill your mug with ice almost to the top.
  • Grab your jigger and measure out 2 oz of vodka. Toss that in the mug.
  • Grab your jigger and measure out 2 oz of cranberry juice. Toss that in the mug.
  • Grab your jigger and measure out 3 oz of gingerbeer. Toss that in the mug.
  • Grab your jigger and measure out .5 oz of lime juice. Toss that in the mug.
  • To mix the mule, there are two options:
    1) gently toss the drink from the mug into the shaker and then back into the mug.
    2) Use a barspoon to gently stir it well.
  • Optional garnish - add a few mint leaves on top, or a few cranberries.

Notes

The directions above build the mule in the mug.  But, you can also build this in a shaker and shake to mix.
  1.  Also fill the shaker with ice.
  2. Measure ingredients directly to the shaker.
  3. Cover the shaker with it's lid.
  4. Shake well for about 15 seconds; not too vigorously so the gingerbeer doesn't fizz.
  5. Remove the lid.
  6. Add the strainer on top of the shaker and pour into the mug.
  7. add mint leaves or cranberries if garnish is desired.
