Collect all the necessary items for making this cocktail.
Put ice into the glass and shaker.
Measure out 2 oz of whiskey with the jigger. Put the whiskey into the shaker.
Measure out 1 oz of lemon juice with the jigger. Put the lemon juice into the shaker.
Measure out .75 oz of simple syrup with the jigger. Put the simple syrup into the shaker.
Measure out 3 oz of cranberry juice with the jigger. Put the cranberry juice into the shaker.
Put the top on the shaker and shake for around 15 or 20 seconds. The shaker should get icy on the outside.
Remove the shaker top and put the strainer over the shaker.
Pour the drink into the rocks glass.
