Chocolate Simple Syrup

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Small Pyrex or Mason Jar
  • Measuring Cup

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Cocoa Powder

Instructions
 

  • Measure 1 cup of cocoa powder and place it in the saucepan.
  • Measure 1 cup of sugar and place it in the saucepan.
  • Measure 1 cup of water and place it in the saucepan.
  • Put the saucepan on medium heat for around 10 minutes.
  • Stir the mixture regularly while heating. Simmer only; do not let it do a full boil.
  • Take it off the stove and pour into a pyrex or mason jar.
  • Put it into the refrigerator to thicken and chill for about 1 - 2 hours.

Notes

Storage:
  • Keep in an airtight container for 2 - 4 weeks in the fridge.
  • Freeze in ice cube trays and then airtight freezer bags if longer storage is needed.
Tips:
  • Don't let the mixture boil.
  • Stir regularly while heating.
