Blueberry Simple Syrup

- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Cup Blueberries fresh or frozen
Measure 1 cup of blueberries and put them in the pot.
Measure 1 cup of water and put it in the pot.
Measure 1 cup of sugar and put it in the pot.
Simmer it on medium heat for 10 minutes.
Be sure to stir it well while heating. You can also use the masher to help squeeze the juice from the blueberries.
Pour the syrup mixture into a strainer to remove all the blueberry pieces.
Add the syrup to a jar or pyrex and chill it for 1 - 2 hours in the refrigerator.
Storage
- Put the syrup in a jar with a lid or other air tight container. Store it in the fridge for 2 - 4 weeks.
- If you need to keep it longer, you can freeze it. Ice cube trays work well.
Tips
- Use a masher to press all the juice out of the blueberries.
- Use a fine mesh strainer to make sure that all the blueberry pieces are removed from the syrup.
- Be sure to not let the syrup boil hard or it may burn.
