Whiskey and Apple Juice

This whiskey and apple juice is a lightly sweet cocktail with flavors of caramel, cinnamon and apple. It is easy to make and can be served warm or cold.

Equipment

  • highball glass or rocks glass
  • jigger
  • bar spoon

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz Whiskey
  • 4 oz Apple Juice
  • Cinnamon Stick (optional garnish)
  • Lime Wedge (Optional garnish)
  • ice

Instructions
 

  • Fill your glass with ice.
  • You can mix this drink either straight in the glass or in a cocktail shaker.
  • To mix in the glass:
    Measure 2 oz whiskey with jigger and pour into glass.
    Top off glass with apple juice (around 4 oz).
    Stir with bar spoon or cinnamon stick.
  • To mix in shaker:
    Fill shaker with ice.
    Measure 2 oz whiskey and pour into shaker.
    Measure 4 oz apple juice and pour into shaker.
    Put top on shaker and shake 15 - 20 seconds.
    Replace top with strainer and pour into glass.
    Add cinnamon stick to side of glass and give a stir.
  • (optional) if you want to add a lime wedge instead of cinnamon stick:
    Cut lime into wedges
    Take one wedge and cut a notch in the pulp.
    Place wedge on rim of glass using the notch to secure it.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

Variations
  • Serve it warm. Apple flavor makes for a great fall cocktail. And with fall comes chilly weather. Warm up the apple juice before serving.
  • Make an Apple Jack. Use Jack Daniels to make this an apple jack.
  • Use different whiskey. As mentioned above, there are many types of whiskeys. Try out Bourbon, Fireball or Jameson.
