Equipment

  • jigger
  • bar spoon
  • highball glass

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Rum
  • 4 oz Ginger Ale
  • ice
  • Lime wedge or cherries (optional garnish)

Instructions

  • Get together your ginger ale, rum, glass, bar spoon and jigger.
  • Next, fill your glass up with ice. It should be mostly full of ice.
  • Now, get your lime wedge garnish ready.
    Cut a lime into slices.
Take one slice and cut a small notch between the pulp and peel of the lime.
Stick the lime slice on the rim of your glass using the notch to hold it in place.
Or, for cherries as the garnish, pop three onto a cocktail pick and stick it in your glass.
  • Fill your jigger up with 2 oz of rum. Then, dump the rum into your glass
  • Fill your jigger up with 4 oz of Ginger Ale. Then dump the ginger ale into your glass with the rum and ice.
Note: If you want to just top the glass off with ginger ale instead of measuring with your jigger, that will work fine also.
  • Put your bar spoon into your glass and give it all a few good stirs.
