Tequila and sprite in a highball with a lemon wedge on the rim.

Tequila And Sprite

This tequila and sprite tastes very similar to a margarita with a crisp tequila bite and tart citrus flavors. With just two ingredients, you can mix this up in just a few minutes.

Equipment

  • highball glass
  • bar spoon
  • shaker (optional)
  • jigger
  • Knife (optional for garnish)

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Tequila gold or silver
  • 4 oz Sprite
  • 1 Lemon wedge optional garnish
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Fill highball glass to the top with ice.
  • Measure 2 oz of tequila with the jigger.
  • Add 2 oz of tequila into the glass with the ice.
  • Measure 4 oz of Sprite with the jigger.
  • Add the 4 oz of Sprite into the glass with the tequila and ice.
Note: you can skip measuring Sprite if you want and just pour it into the glass to top it off. It will be around 4 oz, sometimes a little more.
  • Stir gently with bar spoon. Or gently toss from glass to shaker, back to glass to mix it.
  • If adding a garnish: cut lemon into slices. Take one wedge and cut a small notch in the pulp. Place the wedge on the glass rim with the notch.
  • Enjoy!

Tips & Variations
  • Make a large batch - you can easily scale this recipe up to make a big batch. Just multiply the ingredients by 2, 3 or more.
  • Don't shake - instead of shaking this in a shaker to mix it make sure to use a bar spoon and stir it so the Sprite doesn't fizz everywhere. Alternatively, you can gently toss it from shaker to glass to mix it.
  • Don't make ahead - if you try making this ahead, the Sprite is likely to go flat. So, just mix this up whenever you are ready to get to drinking.
  • Use a different sprite or tequila - try flavored sprite like cherry sprite or a gold tequila.
  • New garnish - use a lime garnish.  Or make wheels or twists instead of wedges.
