Equipment

  • highball glass
  • bar spoon
  • jigger
  • shaker (optional)
  • Knife (optional for garnish)

Ingredients

  • 2 oz gin
  • 4 oz Sprite or Sprite Zero
  • 1 lemon wedge optional garnish
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Fill highball glass with ice.
  • Measure out 2 oz of gin with the jigger.
  • Pour gin from jigger into the glass with the ice.
  • Measure out 4 oz of sprite with the jigger.
  • Pour the sprite from the jigger into the glass with the ice and gin.
Note: if you want to skip measuring the sprite you can. Just simply pour it directly into the glass to top it off.
  • Stir gently with bar spoon. Or you can gently toss from glass to shaker and back to glass to mix.
  • (Optional lemon wedge garnish). Slice a lemon into slices/wedges. Take one and cut a small notch in the pulp. Place the wedge on the rim of the glass.

Notes

Tips & Variations
  • Make a pitcher - you can easily make this as a big batch or by the pitcher, just double the ingredients.
  • Don't shake - because this cocktail has so much sprite in it, you don't want to shake it. Stir it with a bar spoon or simply pour it from the shaker to the glass to mix it.
  • Adjust ratios if necessary - the 2:1 sprite to gin ratio really makes for a perfect flavor. However, if you are looking for something lighter on alcohol you can scale the gin back some or vice versa.
  • Don't make in advance - though you CAN store this in the fridge, once you've opened and poured the sprite it will go flat pretty quickly. So, we don't recommend making this in advance or storing it for later.
  • Different flavors - try out flavored gin, flavored sprite, diet or sprite zero to adjust the flavors, sugar and calorie content of this drink.
