Grab the ice and use it to to the highball glass off.
Take the jigger and measure out .5 oz of simple syrup. Dump that into the shaker.
Dump the 5 - 10 mint leaves into the shaker.
Take the muddler and gently press and twist the mint leaves into the simple syrup. They should be slightly broken up, but not pulverized.
Take the jigger and measure out 1.5 oz of white rum. Dump that into the shaker
Take the jigger and measure out 1 oz of lime juice. Dump that into the shaker
Take the jigger and measure out 1 oz of passion fruit liqueur. Dump that into the shaker
Toss a few ice cubes into the shaker.
Place the shaker lid on and shake it up for about 20 seconds or until it is cold to the touch.
Remove the shaker lid and put the hawthorne strainer over the shaker.
Pour the drink into the highball glass.
Take the club soda and pour it directly into the glass, topping it off.
If desired, add a sprig of mint in the glass as a garnish.
