    Jump to Recipe

Looking for a pretty, minty and refreshing drink? Try this nice flavored spin on a classic cocktail, the passion fruit mojito. This one is easy to make and bursting with sweet tropical flavor.

What is a Passion Fruit Mojito?

A passion fruit mojito is a combination of passoa, mint leaves, white rum, lime juice, simple syrup and club soda. This pretty red cocktail is light and fizzy with a super sweet passion fruit flavor and hints of lingering lime and mint.

In general, mojitos are a combination of white rum, muddled mint, lime juice, simple syrup and club soda.

This is a sweet and bright colored flavor variation on the classic mojito cocktail. Some other fun flavored variations include the raspberry vodka mojito and the watermelon mojito.

Passoa is what creates the pretty reddish pink color in the cocktail. It is a sweet passion fruit flavored liqueur that clocks in around 20% alcohol by volume. It is commonly used in cocktails like a passion fruit daquiri.

White rum is contributes the majority of the alcohol content to this drink. It is a lightly sweet liquor. We like to use Bacardi, but you can use any brand you choose.

For the lime juice and simple syrup, you can either make your own or buy it in the store. Home squeezed lime juice tends to be a little more tart and fresh tasting. Homemade simple syrup is easy, you just need sugar and water.

    When to Make This Drink:

This pretty colored, refreshing drink is well suited for serving at times such as:

    • BBQs or 4th of July
    • spring or summer get togethers
    • pool parties or beach days
    • brunch

    Variations:

If you’d like to keep the flavor the same, but change a few ingredients up give a few of these ideas a try:

    • Muddle passion fruit. Add some fresh passion fruit and with the mint leaves and muddle it all together.
    • Add passion fruit juice. Add a few dashes of fresh passion fruit juice into a cocktail shaker with the other ingredients.
    • Use a flavored simple syrup. Mint syrup, lime simple syrup or passion fruit flavored simple syrup would all work well to capitalize on the other flavors in this drink.
    • Substitute the lime juice. Instead of using store-bought lime juice, slice up a lime and place the wedges in the cocktail shaker to muddle with mint leaves.

    How to make this drink:

This cocktail is relatively easy to make, you should be able to toss it together in about 5 minutes. Muddle your mint and then shake everything together and get to sipping.
