Cinnamon Simple Syrup

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Measuring Cup
  • Jar with lid or Pyrex

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3 sticks Cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Toss 3 cinnamon sticks into a pot.
  • Toss 1 cup of water into a pot.
  • Toss 1 cup of sugar into a pot.
  • Place the pot on medium heat on the stovetop for around 10 minutes.
  • Stir regularly while heating.
  • Remove from the heat and add the syrup to a jar or pyrex (keep the cinnamon sticks in the syrup to continue infusing flavor).
  • Place syrup in the refrigerate to cool and thicken.

Notes

Tips
  • Let the mixture simmer, but not fully boil.
  • Keep stirring while it heats so it does not burn.
  • Leave the cinnamon sticks in the syrup while it cools to get a full flavor infusion.
Storage
  • Place the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for 2 - 4 weeks.
  • If storing longer than 4 weeks, freeze it in an ice cube tray.
