- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Sugar
- 3 sticks Cinnamon
Toss 3 cinnamon sticks into a pot.
Toss 1 cup of water into a pot.
Toss 1 cup of sugar into a pot.
Place the pot on medium heat on the stovetop for around 10 minutes.
Stir regularly while heating.
Remove from the heat and add the syrup to a jar or pyrex (keep the cinnamon sticks in the syrup to continue infusing flavor).
Place syrup in the refrigerate to cool and thicken.
Tips
- Let the mixture simmer, but not fully boil.
- Keep stirring while it heats so it does not burn.
- Leave the cinnamon sticks in the syrup while it cools to get a full flavor infusion.
Storage
- Place the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for 2 - 4 weeks.
- If storing longer than 4 weeks, freeze it in an ice cube tray.
