- .5 Cup Water
- 1 Cup Sugar
- .5 Cup Lemon Juice
Add .5 cups of water to a saucepan.
Add .5 cups of lemon juice to a saucepan.
Add 1 cup of sugar to a saucepan.
Put the pot on medium heat on the stovetop.
For 10 minutes, while stirring frequently, simmer the mixture.
Remove the mixture from the heat and pour it into a pyrex or jar.
Place the syrup into the refrigerator for 1 - 2 hours so that it can thicken and chill.
Storage
- Store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 2 - 4 weeks.
- If you need to keep it for longer than 2 - 4 weeks, you can freeze it.
Tips
- Stir frequently while heating to ensure the syrup doesn't burn on the bottom of the pot.
- Try not to let it rapidly boil while heating to prevent burning.
- Let it cool for 1 - 2 hours in the fridge before using so that it has time to thicken.
