Mango Simple Syrup

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Knife
  • Strainer
  • Masher optional
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Measuring Cup
  • Mason Jar or Pyrex

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Chopped Mango

Instructions
 

  • Chop up 1 cup of mango and add it to the pot.
  • Pour 1 cup of water in the pot.
  • Pour 1 cup of sugar in the pot.
  • Put the pot on medium heat on the stovetop.
  • Heat the mixture for 10 minutes while simmering.
  • Stir the mixture regurarly while heating. You can use the masher to squeeze out all the mango juice if desired.
  • Take the mixture off the heat and strain it through the strainer to remove any pieces of mango.
  • Put the syrup into the jar or pyrex and place it in the fridge for 1 - 2 hours.

Notes

Storage
  • You can keep this in the fridge in an airtight container for 2 - 4 weeks.
  • If it won't be used before 4 weeks, you should freeze it to keep it longer.
Tips
  • Use the masher to press all the mango juice out.
  • Use a fine mesh strainer to remove all the mango or pulp pieces from the final syrup.
  • Be sure to stir frequently during heating so that it heats evenly.
