- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Cup Mint Leaves
Add 1 cup of mint leaves into the pot.
Add 1 cup of water into the pot.
Add 1 cup of sugar into the pot.
Put the pot on the stovetop at medium heat to simmer for 10 minutes.
Stir it frequently while it heats.
Take the pot off the heat and pour the syrup through the strainer to remove the mint leaves.
Add syrup to a jar with a lid or a pyrex and place it into the fridge to chill for 1 - 2 hours.
Tips
- Use a strainer to remove the mint leaves from the final syrup.
- Stir consistently through heating to prevent the syrup from scalding on the bottom of the pan.
- Allow the syrup to cool for 1 - 2 hours before using so that it will thicken up.
Storing
- Put it into an air tight container and keep it in the fridge for 2 - 4 weeks.
- If it won't be used before that time, then you can freeze it. Using ice cube trays works well.
