Equipment

  • highball glass
  • bar spoon
  • Knife or Cocktail Pick for optional garnish
  • jigger

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Amaretto
  • 4 oz Coke Diet Coke, or Coke Zero
  • 1 Lime Wedge optional garnish
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Add ice to your highball glass - filling it to the top.
  • Use the jigger and measure out 2 oz of Amaretto.
  • Add the Amaretto into the glass with the ice.
  • Use the jigger and measure out 4 oz of Coke.
  • Add the Coke into the glass with the ice and Amaretto.
Note: skip the measuring if you want and just pour the Coke directly into the glass to top it off.
  • Use the bar spoon to gently stir the drink together. Or, carefully pour the drink from the glass to the shaker and back to the glass to mix it.
  • If adding a lime wedge: Cut a lime into slices. Take one slice and cut a small notch in the pulp. Use the notch to secure the wedge to the rim of the glass.
  • Enjoy!

Tips & Variations
  • 2:1 ratio - keeping a 2:1 Coke to Amaretto ratio helps to keep the flavor well balanced in this drink. You can scale it up to make more than one glass as long as you stick to this ratio.
  • Don't get fizzy - instead of shaking this drink to mix it, use a bar spoon to stir it up so that the Coke doesn't get all fizzy.
  • Use clear ice - this isn't a MUST have, but if you are making cocktails often, using a clear ice maker can ramp up your drinks. Use clear ice in this cocktail to give it a nice look and even melting.
  • Different Coke - try out diet coke, coke zero, cherry coke or other coke variations to change up the flavors in this drink.
