Amaretto and Coke is such a versatile cocktail. It is delicious as a standalone drink with a couple cherries or lime wedge on the side. But, it can also be a great base for many other drinks.

What Is An Amaretto And Coke?
Amaretto and Coke is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a two ingredient highball cocktail; meaning it contains about a shot of alcohol with double to triple that amount of a non-alcoholic mixer (usually juice or soda). It joins the very large family of other Coke Highballs/Cocktails, like Vodka and Coke, Whiskey and Coke, Jager and coke and Rum and Coke.
But, one of the truly great things about this particular cocktail is how well it works in many other cocktail recipes. We will get more in depth into some other variations later. But, using this recipe as a cocktail base you can make at least another 3 or 4 drinks easily.
If you love the Amaretto flavor, you may also like a Sicilian Kiss Shot or a Amaretto and Dr. Pepper.
How to make this drink:
This cocktail is a quick and easy one to learn. Let’s get to it!

Rocks glasses (this is the set we use personally)
Jigger (we use the jigger and shaker from this set)
Get all your ingredients together and start making your drink.
Ingredients:
2 oz Amaretto
4 oz Coke, Diet Coke, or Coke Zero
3 maraschino cherries
Step One
Put ice in your cocktail mixer.
Step Two
Pour in 2 oz of Amaretto (we prefer Disaronno)
Step Three
Pour in 4 oz Coke, Diet Coke, or Coke Zero
Step Four
Put some fresh ice in your rocks glass
Step Five
Strain your drink with a Hawthorne strainer into your glass.
Step Six
Garnish your drink with 3 maraschino cherries on a cocktail pick and enjoy!
Cocktail Variants
Amaretto and Coke is delicious on it’s own but can also be a really good base for more cocktails.
Add in some bourbon
Bourbon and Amaretto blend so well together already. Add about ½ to 1 oz of a good bourbon to give your drink some more kick and a smoother flavor.
Amaretto Cherry Coke
You have a few options here. The easiest method is to follow the same recipe as above but use Cherry Coke instead of regular Coke. Alternatively, you can add in some other form of cherry flavoring like real cherries and muddle them, or add in ½ to 1 oz of a cherry schnapps, cherry flavored vodka, or grenadine.
Dirty Dr. Pepper
This is a really fun one because it really tastes just like Dr Pepper. Fill a Collins glass with ice and pour in 1 to 1½ oz of Amaretto and a cinnamon liquor/liqueur (Fireball, Firewater, Goldschlager, Schnapps, etc). Then top off with some Coke!
Lounge Lizard
The Lounge Lizard is another really tasty cocktail. It is almost the same as a Dirty Dr Pepper but instead of a cinnamon liquor/liqueur you will use a dark rum instead. We like to use Myer’s Dark Rum.
