French 75 Cocktail

Equipment

  • jigger
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • cocktail shaker
  • Champagne Flute

Ingredients
  

  • 1 oz Gin
  • .5 oz Simple Syrup or you can replace simple syrup and lemon juice with 1 oz of sweet and sour mix
  • .5 oz Lemon Juice
  • 2 oz Champagne
  • lemon twist optional garnish
  • Ice

Instructions
 

  • Gather up everything you need to make your drink. Make sure that the champagne has been chilled.
  • Fill your cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Measure out 1 oz of Gin with the jigger and pour it into the shaker.
  • Measure out .5 oz of Simple Syrup with the jigger and pour it into the shaker.
  • Measure out .5 oz of Lemon Juice with the jigger and pour it into the shaker.
  • Put the top on the shaker and shake it up well. The outside of the shaker should get cold to the touch.
  • Remove the top and put the strainer on the top of the shaker. Pour it into the champagne flute.
  • Measure out 2 oz of Champagne with the jigger and pour it into the flute.
    note: alternatively, you can top skip measuring the champagne and just top the flute off.
  • optional garnish - cut a twist of the lemon peel and add it to the rim of the flute.
