- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Cup Pumpkin Puree
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- .25 teaspoon Ginger
- .25 teaspoon Nutmeg

Add 1 cup of Pumpkin Puree to the pot.
Add 1 cup of Water to the pot.
Add 1 cup of Sugar to the pot.
Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and cinnamon to the pot.
Add ΒΌ teaspoon of ginger and nutmeg to the pot.
Add β
teaspoon of cloves to the pot.
Put the mixture on medium heat on the stovetop.
Simmer the mixture for about 10 minutes while stirring frequently.
Remove it from the heat and pour it through the strainer to remove any pieces of puree from the syrup.
Add the syrup to a pyrex or jar and put it into the fridge for 1 - 2 hours to allow it to chill and thicken.
Tips
- Use a fine strainer to prevent any of the actual puree pieces from getting into the syrup.
- Allow the syrup to cool for 1 - 2 hours before using so it has time to thicken up.
- Don't let the mixture fully boil or it might burn.
Storage
- Keep the syrup in an airtight container such as a mason jar in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.
- If you need to keep if for longer, you can freeze it preferably in an ice cube tray.
