Duck Fart Shot – a fun layered shot

If you are a fan of layered shots or fun name shots then you should try the duck fart shot! This shot takes a little skill to get the layers right but has a cool look when done properly.

What is a duck fart shot?

A duck fart shot is a layered shot made with three different liqueurs. You will need Bailey’s or an Irish cream, Kahlua or a coffee liqueur, and whiskey. If you like crown royal drinks, this one is a must try.

It is similar to another layered shot, the B-52 shot where you would substitute the whiskey for Grand Marnier.

The duck fart shot is a creamy shot with flavors of coffee and chocolate mixed in with the whiskey. It does take a little bit of skill to get the layers correct, but it’s not too hard to figure out.

Layered shots can be fun to make. Different liquors and liqueurs have different densities which helps them to either sink or float in the glass and if done correctly you can create a very definitive line of separation between each liquid.

How to make this drink:

You can whip this shot up with three simple ingredients and a steady hand to layer them.

Equipment:

• pour spouts
• Shot glasses
• jigger
• bar spoon

Ingredients:

• ½ oz Bailey’s
• ½ oz crown royal
• ½ oz kahula

Instructions:

Step one

To begin that you will want to ensure that you have all of your ingredients and equipment ready to go.

Step two

First measure ½ oz of Kahlua in your jigger and pour into the bottom of your shot glass.

Step three

Next, you will be layering Baileys on top of the kahlua.

To do this you will want to use a bar spoon. Measure ½ oz of Baileys into your jigger.

Then, turn your bar spoon upside down and very slowly pour your Bailey’s on top of the bar spoon into the shot glass so that it sits on top of the Kahlua without mixing.

To help get a very distinct layering, you we’ll want to pour as slowly as possible. It can also help to rest the bar spoon against the edge of the shot glass and just above the Kahlua so that the Bailey’s flows as slow as possible.

Step four

Next, you will want to measure ½ oz of crown Royal whiskey. This will be your top layer.

You will again want to use a bar spoon inserted upside down into the glass. Been very slowly for the whiskey over the back of the bar spoon so that it sits on top of the Bailey’s.

Step Five

Now that you have a beautifully layered shot you can chug and enjoy!
