Looking for a drink if it looks and taste just like a tropical oasis? Give the blue motherfucker otherwise known as an adios motherfucker a try. But, when you give this one a try be sure to do so responsibly as it is chock full of alcohol.

What is a Blue Motherfucker drink?
A blue motherfucker drink tastes very similar to a Long Island iced tea with a little extra zing of citrus. It has a strong taste of tequila and sour mix as well which gives it almost a little bit of a margarita flavor.
The blue or adios motherfucker is a really strong drink packed with alcohol, in fact in contains rum, tequila, vodka and gin as well as blue curacao, lemon-lime soda and sweet and sour mix. The blue curacao gives it the neon blue color that it’s named for. The blue curacao, lemon-lime soda and sweet and sour mix all contribute a sweet, tangy citrus flavor to this drink.
This drink, with it’s bright color is fun for most any celebration. Even though it takes a lot of ingredients, it is still relatively easy to whip up as there are no fancy garnishes, muddling or glass rimming needed for this one. With all the liquors packed into this cocktail, we do recommend to be cautious when you are drinking this cocktail, it’s definitely not for lightweights.
This drink is similar to the Irish Trash Can, the Bullfrog drink and the Blue Long Island/Blue Motorcycle.
Ingredients
- 1 oz Rum
- 1 oz Tequila
- 1 oz Vodka
- 1 oz Gin
- 1 oz Blue Curacao
- 1 oz Sprite
- 1 oz Sweet and Sour Mix
- Ice
- Maraschino Cherry

How to make this drink
This drink takes a few minutes to make simply because you have to measure out so many ingredients. However, it’s not a difficult one that’s all you have to do is toss them together and you’re good to go.
Step one
Before you get started make sure that you have your entire sleeve ingredients gathered as well as your jigger, shaker, Hawthorne strainer, cocktail pick and highball glass.
Step two
Fill your highball glass as well as your cocktail shaker completely to the top with ice.
Step three
Take your jigger and measure 1 oz of gin. Pour the Gin into your cocktail shaker.
Step four
Take your jigger and measure 1 oz of rum. Pour the rum into your cocktail shaker with your gin and ice.
Step Five
Take your jigger and measure 1 oz of tequila. Pour the tequila into your cocktail shaker with your gin, rum, and ice.
Step Six
Take your jigger and measure 1 oz of vodka. Pour your vodka in the Shaker with your other ingredients.
Step Seven
Take your jigger and measure 1 oz of lemon lime soda. Pour your soda in the Shaker with everything.
Step Eight
Take your jigger and measure 1 oz of sweet and sour mix. Pour your sweet and sour mix in the Shaker as well.
Step Nine
Use the jigger and pour your blue curacao into it to measure it out. Then, toss that into the shaker.
Step Ten
Next, we want to stir everything together. To do this, put the top on your Shaker and shake it well until the outside of the Shaker is cool to the touch. This typically takes about 15 or 20 seconds.
Step Ten
Remove the top from your shaker. And then, put the hawthorn strainer on top of your shaker. Go ahead and pour your drink from your Shaker into your glass.
Step Eleven
Finally, add your garnish. To do this spear a couple of maraschino cherries with your cocktail pic and add it to the side of your glass.
Now, your drink is ready to go!

Blue Motherfucker (Adios Motherfucker)

- jigger

- Hawthorne strainer
- cocktail shaker
- 4″ and/or 8″ cocktail pick (optional)
Ingredients
- 1 oz Rum (white rum)
- 1 oz Tequila
- 1 oz Vodka
- 1 oz Gin
- 1 oz Blue Curacao
- 1 oz Sprite
- 1 oz Sweet and Sour Mix
- Maraschino Cherries (optional garnish)
- Ice
Instructions
- Fill up both your shaker and glass with ice.
- Make your garnish by taking a few maraschino cherries and sticking them on your cocktail pick.
- Grab your rum and measure 1oz with your jigger. Then dump the rum into your shaker.
- Grab your tequila and measure 1oz with your jigger. Then dump the tequila into your shaker.
- Grab your vodka and measure 1oz with your jigger. Then dump the vodka into your shaker.
- Grab your gin and measure 1oz with your jigger. Then dump the gin into your shaker.
- Grab your blue curacao and measure 1oz with your jigger. Then dump the blue curacao into your shaker.
- Grab your sprite and measure 1oz with your jigger. Then dump the sprite into your shaker.
- Grab your sweet and sour mix and measure 1oz with your jigger. Then dump the sweet and sour mix into your shaker.
- Cover up the top of your shaker and shake everything well. Shake until the outside of the shaker is cold to touch – this takes about 15 – 20 seconds. Note: Don't shake too vigorously or the soda will fizz up.
- Uncover your shaker and add the hawthorne strainer to the top of the shaker. Pour your drink into your glass.
- Stick your garnish in the side of your glass and enjoy!
