If you’re looking for a intense, fire breathing shot then this prairie dog shot is the one to try. It is full of hot spice and overproof liquor.
What is a Prairie Dog Shot?
A prairie dog shot is a shot of 151 rum with a few dashes of Tabasco sauce added to it. This shot has a sharp intense bite from the 151 and the heat of the Tabasco burns all the way down.
If overproof rum isn’t your thing, you might try out the prairie fire shot which substitutes tequila in for the rum. The tequila boom boom shot also has hot sauce added.
151 rum is a gold rum which has been overproofed. Overproofed essentially means that it has a much higher alcohol content than liquor typically does. It is very strong and burns while going down.
If you don’t have Tabasco sauce, you could use any other hot sauce in place of it for this cocktail.
