What is a Red Snapper Shot?

A red snapper shot is made with crown Royal whiskey, amaretto and cranberry juice. They are mixed in a 1:1:2 ratio. The resulting shot is a beautiful red color that has the tart zing of cranberries which is quickly smoothed out with the slightly sweet nutty flavors of whiskey and amaretto.

Crown Royal is a Canadian whiskey made from barley, rye and corn. It is a very smooth liquor that has undertones of vanilla, oak and caramel.

Amaretto is an Italian liqueur. It is made from either almonds or the pits of stone fruit. It tends to have a slightly bitter and slightly sweet flavor that tastes nutty. When it is added to cocktails, it commonly helps to smooth and melt all the flavors.

When selecting a cranberry juice for this cocktail, try to get 100% pure no sugar added cranberry juice. Stay away from cranberry juice cocktails when possible as they have additional fruits added in. You want to have that true tart cranberry flavor.

    When to Make This Drink:

This shot can be incredibly versatile with its smooth and refreshing flavor. Try it at a variety of occasions including:
