Crown Royal is a Canadian whiskey made from barley, rye and corn. It is a very smooth liquor that has undertones of vanilla, oak and caramel.
Amaretto is an Italian liqueur. It is made from either almonds or the pits of stone fruit. It tends to have a slightly bitter and slightly sweet flavor that tastes nutty. When it is added to cocktails, it commonly helps to smooth and melt all the flavors.
When selecting a cranberry juice for this cocktail, try to get 100% pure no sugar added cranberry juice. Stay away from cranberry juice cocktails when possible as they have additional fruits added in. You want to have that true tart cranberry flavor.
