What is a Tequila and Eggnog?

A tequila and eggnog is a creamy and decadent cocktail that has the sweet rich flavor of eggnog with the slightly sweet bite of tequila on the back end. This cocktail is easy to make and fits well for any winter occasion from parties to sipping by the fireplace.

Tequila is a liquor made by distilling a blue agave plant. It comes in several different variations based on how how long and the type of aging done.

Two of the more popular types of tequilas are Blanco tequila and gold tequila. Blanco tequila is a lighter sweeter flavored liquor whereas gold tequila has been aged more and has a darker thicker flavor. You can use any type of tequila for this cocktail.

Eggnog is a drink typically made and consumed around the winter holidays. It is made from eggs, milk, cream, sugar and vanilla. It is a very thick, rich and decadent drink that has a flavor similar to custard.

For this cocktail, you can use either store-bought eggnog or you can make your own eggnog at home.

This cocktail is perfect for cold weather celebrations. Here are a few times you might want to try serving it:

    • Winter holiday celebrations
    • Christmas Eve sipping

Other eggnog drinks are: vodka and eggnog, gin and eggnog or an eggnog martini.
