    What is a black martini?

A black Martini is made of vodka, blue curacao, and Chambord or another type of black raspberry liqueur.

You can make a black martini with a few different variations. Instead of using regular vodka, if you can find it, you can use black vodka instead. This of course will make your drink extra dark. However, black vodka can be difficult to find.

Additionally, if you want to ramp up the darkness of your drink, you can use a drop or two of black food coloring to enhance the color.

No matter what version you choose to make a black Martini has is the perfect mix of orange liqueur and raspberry liqueur with vodka. It has a slightly fruity flavor from the liqueurs but it is not too sweet or overpowering.

Just like an alien brain hemorrhage and a black opal, the black Martini is perfect for spooky Halloween themed get togethers. However, it is a great sipping martini and doesn’t need to be held just for spooky occasions.

    How to make this drink:

This Martini is super easy to shake together with just three ingredients you’re ready to go!

    Equipment:

    • 4″ and 8″ cocktail picks
    • cocktail shaker
    • Hawthorne strainer
    • Martini glasses
    • jigger

    Ingredients:

    • 2 oz vodka
    • ½ oz blue Curacao
    • 1 oz Chambord
    • Lemon Peel (garnish)

    Instructions:

    Step one

As you get started, make sure to gather all of your ingredients and all of your equipment together.

Fill your cocktail shaker almost to the top with ice.

You may also want to chill your martini glass for a few minutes before you get started.

    Step two

The first thing you want to do is prepare your lemon twist that will be used as a garnish for your drink.

To do this, you cut a wheel from your lemon. Then slice the pulp away from the peel. Once you have just a strip of Peel you can twist that onto your skewer.

    Step three

Now we’re going to get our liquors together. First, using your jigger, measure 2 oz of vodka and pour into your cocktail shaker over the ice.

    Step four

Next, still using your jigger, measure half an ounce of blue curacao and also pour that into your cocktail shaker with the vodka.

    Step Five

Finally, take your Chambord or other black raspberry liqueur and measure 1 oz and add that to your cocktail shaker.

    Step six

Place the top on your cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for around 30 seconds.

    Step seven

Remove the top of the cocktail shaker and place the Hawthorne strainer across the top. Carefully pour the liquid from your cocktail shaker into your martini glass.

Place your lemon twist across the top of the glass and you’re ready to enjoy!
