What is the black opal drink?

If you want to throw everything but the kitchen thinking to your drink then this is the perfect drink for you. The black opal is made of sprite, Chambord, gin, rum, tequila, vodka, sweet and sour mix and and blue Curacao.

The fun part about this drink is watching it change from Blue to a dark black purple color when you add the last ingredient.

Even though it has a ton of ingredients it’s super easy to make and does have a fun color so it works well for most any occasion.

This drink, like the black martini and Fruit Tingle, are chambord based drinks that have the distinct flavor of black raspberry added in.

How to make this drink:

As long as you got all the right ingredients this drink is super easy to make.

  • highball glass
  • jigger
  • bar spoon
  • cocktail shaker
  • Hawthorne strainer

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Chambord
  • 1 oz of sweet and sour mix
  • Sprite to top off
  • ½ oz vodka
  • ½ oz gin
  • ½ oz tequila
  • ½ oz rum
  • ½ oz blue Curacao

Instructions:

Step one

First, you want to make sure that you gather together all of your equipment and ingredients before you get started.

Also, ensure that both your cocktail shaker and your highball glass are filled with ice.

Step two

Next, using your jigger, measure a half ounce of vodka and pour it over the ice into your cocktail shaker.

Follow the same procedure to measure half ounce of gin, half ounce of rum, half ounce of tequila, half ounce of Blue Curacao pouring each of them into the cocktail shaker as well.

Step three

Next, using your jigger again, measure 1 oz of sweet and sour mix and add that to your cocktail shaker.

Step four

Place the top on your cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for several seconds so that all of your liquid and ice gets mixed together well.

Step Five

Remove the top from your cocktail shaker and place your Hawthorne strainer on the top of it.

Pour your liquid from the cocktail shaker into your highball glass.

Step six

Next, pour Sprite into your highball glass filling almost to the top. To leave an answer to a room left because we still have one ingredient left.

Step seven

Now, using your jigger, measure 2 oz of Chambord. You can use any type of black raspberry liqueur you wish. We prefer chambord.

Pour your 2 oz of Chambord into your highball glass and you will see your blue drink turn to a purpley black color.

Finally, using a bar spoon, you can make sure drink together and enjoy!
