How To Make A Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini?

The fruit based martini truly is a thing of beauty. The martini on its own is a crisp and refreshing cocktail. But throwing fruit, specifically blueberries, into the mix makes them even better.

The Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini was most recently popularized as a featured drink at Fleming’s Steakhouse across the US. If you’ve ever had one, you know this recipe is to die for.

This recipe is similar to other fruit cocktails like the Blueberry Margarita, the Strawberry Martini because you must use a muddler.

A muddler is a device used by bartenders to crush fruits, spices, and garnishes to extract their juices, oils, and other flavors. It is different than blending. Blending chops fruit and makes smaller pieces while muddling gives you fruit juice.

Other lemon drop martinis include: raspberry lemon drop martini and the strawberry lemon drop martini.

    Ingredients

This recipe only takes five simple ingredients. You will need:

    Blueberries

    Vodka

    Triple sec

    Lemon juice

    Simple syrup

    Flavored Simple Syrup

If you like, you can also make your own infused simple syrup for this recipe to ramp up the flavor. Use this lemon simple syrup or this blueberry syrup.

    Instructions

This drink is not only delicious but super simple to make!

    Step 1:

Start out by chilling your martini glass in the freezer.

    Step 2:

Muddle 10 blueberries along with 1 oz of simple syrup.

    Step 3:

Fill the shaker about ¾ full with ice.

Now pour vodka, triple sec and lemon juice on top of the ice and blueberries.

Put your shaker top on and shake until the outside of a shaker is frosted over.

    Step 4:

Get your martini glass from the freezer and rime the edge with some extra simple syrup. Dip the wet rim into sugar and twirl until you have a full coat around the whole glass rim.

    Step 5:

Remove the lid from your shaker and replace it with a Hawthorne strainer. You can also use a Sieve Strainer if you want to make absolute sure there will be no blueberry pulp left over.

Pour your drink through your strainer and into your chilled martini glass. Garnish with 3 blueberries on a 4″ cocktail pick.

    Serve and Enjoy!
