What is a Call a Cab Cocktail?

A call a cab cocktail is a combination of cranberry juice, orange juice, sprite, vodka, peach schnapps, Midori, Southern comfort, creme de banana or banana liqueur and coconut rum. This cocktail is a creamy yellow color. It is very sweet with banana and peach flavors and subtle hints of citrus and coconut.

When you’re choosing the cranberry juice and orange juice to use in this cocktail, make sure to get them fresh and not 100% pure so that other juices aren’t mixed in. Additionally, use a pulp free orange juice to ensure a smooth textured drink.

Peach schnapps is a clear drink. It is a base neutral spirit which is schnapps combined with a very sweet peach flavor. It is usually around 15% alcohol by volume or 30 proof.

Midori is a neon green colored liqueur that originated in Japan. It is a very sweet melon flavored drink which is made from Yubari and honeydew melons.

Banana liqueur comes in a few different variations depending on the brand you get Some are creamy and some are not. All of them have a neutral base spirit that is infused with a very sweet very strong banana flavor. We prefer to use a creamy banana liqueur for this drink.

Coconut rum is a clear rum liqueur. It is made by mixing rum with coconut or coconut extract, sweetener and other additives. The resulting liqueur is a sweet coconut flavor.

Southern comfort is a type of whiskey liqueur. It is made by combining whiskey with fruits and spices. It has a smooth and sweet flavor with hints of cherry, peach, vanilla and cinnamon.

    When to Make This Drink:

This jam-packed, nine ingredient highball is perfect for shaking up at a variety of events including:

    • bachelor and bachelorette party
    • summer celebrations
    • college parties
    • Tailgating parties

    Variations:

With nine ingredients, there are a few ways you can change this cocktail up including:

    • Use a different lemon lime soda. The Sprite is a favorite for us in this cocktail, there are other lemon lime sodas such as 7-Up or even mountain dew that you could use in this cocktail.
    • Use a flavored vodka. Instead of using regular vodka you can use a flavored vodka such as orange vodka or Mandarin vodka.
