What is a Dr. Pepper Bomb?

A Dr pepper bomb shot is a combination of Coke and beer in a high ball glass that then has a shot of amaretto dropped into it and is chugged. The combination of these ingredients surprisingly tastes almost exactly like Dr pepper.

Amaretto is an Italian originated liqueur. It is sweet, nutty and a little bitter. It is typically made from apricot kernels or other stone fruit. Though it does taste similar to almonds.

Since Dr pepper is a soda, you of course want some sort of fizziness from this bomb shot. The fizziness in this drink comes from the beer. And you really get it bubbly when you drop your shot glass into it.

Wanna ramp this up a notch? Make it a flaming Dr. Pepper shot with a little fire and some 151.

As with most shots, particularly bomb shots, they are well suited for parties or informal get togethers such as:

How to make this drink:

With only three ingredients this drink is super easy to make You can have it whipped up in 5 minutes or less and don’t even need to stir it.

Equipment:

• highball glass
• Shot glasses
• jigger

Ingredients:

• 4 oz beer
• 1.5 oz amaretto
• splash of Coke

Instructions:

Step one

Start out by gathering up your beer, Coke, highball glass, shot glass and amaretto.

there’s no ice used in this drink, so if you want it to be cold, make sure that your Coke and beer has been chilled in the fridge before starting.

Step two

Take your jigger and your beer. Measure out 4 oz of beer and toss it into your highball glass.

If you don’t want to measure, you could simply pour the beer straight into the highball glass filling it about halfway up.

We used a lager beer, but you could use other types. I would not suggest Guinness or any other strong thick beers as they will not taste the same.

Step three

Grab your Coke and put a splash of it into your glass of beer.

Step four

Using your jigger measure out one and a half ounces of amaretto. Add that directly to your shot glass.

Step Five

To take this shot, you’ll want to pick up your shot glass of amaretto and hold it over the top of your glass full of coke and beer.

Carefully but speedily drop the shot glass into your highball glass and then chug the entire drink.
