A Pink pussycat cocktail is a combination of gin, grapefruit juice and grenadine. It is a very simple cocktail to make that has a refreshing strong grapefruit flavor mixed with a hint of botanicals from the gin on the back end.
Gin is made from juniper berries which lend it to having an almost pine-like flavor. It tends to have an herbal or botanical flavor filled with spices and fruits. It is definitely a complex and robust flavored liquor.
Grapefruit juice of course is essentially juice squeezed out a grapefruits. It has a tangy slightly sweet citrus flavor. Some grapefruit juice is sweeter than others if it has added sugar and some grapefruit juice contains pulp. You can choose which other type of grapefruit juice you like the best with this cocktail.
Grenadine is a thick sweet syrup. It is bright red color and made from pomegranates. Although, some people feel it tastes like a cherry syrup. It does have a pomegranate taste with a little hint of citrus in it.

- 2 oz Grapefruit Juice
- .5 oz Grenadine
- Ice
Instructions:
Step one
Get your glass, jigger, cocktail shaker, strainer, jen, grapefruit juice and grenadine all together.
Note: some cocktails are best served in certain glasses. This cocktail does not have a certain glass that must be used. We like to use a rock class but you could certainly use a highball glass or other cocktail glass.
Step two
Go ahead and get your cocktail shaker filled with ice. Then, also fill your glass with ice as well.
Step three
Gather your gin and your jigger and measure 1.5 oz of gin. Go ahead and dump your gin into your cocktail shaker with your ice.
Step four
Gather your grapefruit juice. Use your jigger and measure 2 oz of grapefruit juice. Go ahead and dump your grapefruit juice into your cocktail shaker with your ice and your gin.
Step Five
Gather your grenadine. Use your jigger and measure .5 oz of grenadine. Go ahead and dump your grenadine into your cocktail shaker with your ice, gin and grapefruit juice.
Step six
Now, you’ll need to get everything mixed together. Place the top onto your cocktail shaker and shake It up. This should take around 15 or 20 seconds.
Step seven
Pop the top off your cocktail shaker. Place your hot one strainer onto your cocktail shaker. Then, pour your drink into your glass.

Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Gin
- 2 oz Grapefruit Juice
- .5 oz Grenadine
- ice
Instructions
- Make sure you have all your ingredients and supplies needed to make your drink.
- Go ahead and grab some ice and use it to fill both your shaker and glass up.
- Pick up your gin and jigger and use the jigger to measure 1.5 oz of gin. Put the gin into your shaker.
- Pick up your grapefruit juice and jigger and use the jigger to measure 2 oz of grapefruit juice. Put the grapefruit juice into your shaker.
- Pick up your grenadine and jigger and use the jigger to measure .5 oz of grenadine. Put the grenadine into your shaker.
- Now to get it all mixed up. Pop the top onto your shaker and shake well until the outside is cold or icy to touch. That should take around 15 or 20 seconds.
- Pop the top off the shaker and add the strainer over the top of the shaker.
- Pour your drink into your rocks glass.
