What is a Pink Pussycat Drink?

A Pink pussycat cocktail is a combination of gin, grapefruit juice and grenadine. It is a very simple cocktail to make that has a refreshing strong grapefruit flavor mixed with a hint of botanicals from the gin on the back end.

Gin is made from juniper berries which lend it to having an almost pine-like flavor. It tends to have an herbal or botanical flavor filled with spices and fruits. It is definitely a complex and robust flavored liquor.

Grapefruit juice of course is essentially juice squeezed out a grapefruits. It has a tangy slightly sweet citrus flavor. Some grapefruit juice is sweeter than others if it has added sugar and some grapefruit juice contains pulp. You can choose which other type of grapefruit juice you like the best with this cocktail.

Grenadine is a thick sweet syrup. It is bright red color and made from pomegranates. Although, some people feel it tastes like a cherry syrup. It does have a pomegranate taste with a little hint of citrus in it.
