    What is a Slippery Nipple?

A slippery nipple shot tastes like creamy red twizzlers or red vines. It also has a hint of caramel. It is similar to the Buttery nipple, but has slightly different ingredients.

It is a three-ingredient layered shot made with sambuca, Irish cream, and grenadine. The grenadine is considered optional.

Sambuca is a liquor from italy. It is flavored with anise which gives it a very strong licorice taste. Another fun Sambuca based drink is the flaming Lamborghini drink.

Irish cream is a creamy liqueur with whiskey. It has a sweet vanilla and chocolate flavor to it. It is commonly used for layering – like in this rattlesnake shot as well.

Grenadine is a very sweet syrupy concoction that tastes like pomegranate. Some people feel it has a sweet cherry taste but it is made from pomegranates.

This naughty named shot joins many others such as the purple motherfucker shot and the panty dropper drink.

    Layering shots

Layered shots are always eye catching and can look like they will be difficult to make. But, in reality, it’s not too difficult as long as you know the right technique.

The layering works because each liquor or liqueur is a different density. When putting together a layered shot, you start with the heaviest liquid and layer on top from there.

The key to keeping your layered shots looking picture perfect is to pour your liquids in slowly and steadily. If you pour too fast, they will mix into the layer below and not be a clean cut line between each ingredient.

    How to make this drink:

Although layering can be a little tricky, this shot isn’t too difficult to make. As long as you go slow you should have a beautifully layered shot within minutes.

    Instructions:

    Step one

Gather together your shot glass, jigger, bar spoon, sambuca, grenadine and Irish cream.

    Step two

Use your jigger to measure approximately ¼ of an ounce of grenadine and toss that in the bottom of your shot glass.

    Step three

Next is your jigger to measure half an ounce of sambuca. Take your bar spoon and put it in your glass upside down just above the top of the grenadine. Slowly pour your sambuca over the back of the bar spoon into your shot glass and it should lay on top of the grenadine.

    Step four

Then, use your jigger to measure half an ounce of Bailey’s Irish cream. Again place your bar spoon upside down in your shot glass this time just above the line of the sambuca. Slowly pour the Irish cream of the back of the bar spoon so that it sits on top of the sambuca.

    Step Five

With that you’re ready to kick your shot back and enjoy!
