    Jump to Recipe

Does apple juice go well with tequila? Yes, it absolutely does! A tequila and apple juice is the perfect cocktail for any fall occasion.

What is a Tequila and Apple Juice?

A tequila and apple juice is a very simple cocktail made of just those two ingredients.

If you want to get a little more complicated you can add a few things and create an apple margarita.

But plain old tequila and apple juice is so good you don’t really need to add anything else if you don’t want to.

Tequila comes in silver and gold varieties. They do have slightly different flavor profiles. For this cocktail we used a silver tequila, but you could certainly use a gold tequila if you prefer.

Generally, tequila has a sweet flavor but also a sharp flavor. It tends to mix in well and almost unnoticed with the other ingredients in your drink. Just adding a little sharp sweetness.

Apple juice of course is a very sweet Apple tasting drink. It is made by squeezing apples to get their juice and then removing any pulp.

As mentioned above since tequila tends to just provide a little sharp sweet flavor to most drinks when it’s mixed with apple juice your resulting cocktail is really just a sweet Apple tasting drink with a little sharpness as an aftertaste.

If you’re looking for similar cocktails with apple juice I recommend looking at a vodka and apple juice, rum apple juice, whiskey and apple juice or a gin and Apple juice.

    How to make this drink:

You can get this drink mixed up in no time. All it takes is a few minutes and a few easy steps.

    Equipment:

    • highball glass or Rocks/Scotch/Bourbon glass
    • jigger
    • bar spoon
    • (optional) cocktail shaker
    • (optional) Hawthorne strainer

    Ingredients:

    • 2 oz Tequila
    • 4 oz Apple Juice
    • Cinnamon Stick and/or Lime Wedge
    • Ice
glass of tequila and apple juice with a cinnamon stick in it

    Instructions:

    Step one

Go ahead and grab your ingredients as well as your supply so that you have everything prepared to get started.

    Step two

You want to ensure that your highball glass is filled almost to the top with ice.

    Step three

Quick note, you can mix this drink either straight in your glass or in a cocktail shaker. For the step-by-step instructions will be discussing mixing it straight in a glass.

If you choose to use a cocktail shaker, you follow the same general instructions. Bit instead of putting it straight in the highball glass you dump your liquids into a Shaker filled with ice, shake it well and then pour it through a Hawthorne strainer into your glass.

    Step four

You want to measure your tequila first. Do that by using your jigger to measure 2 oz of tequila and then dump it into your glass with your ice.

    Step Five

Next, you want to measure your Apple juice. Do that by again using your jigger to measure 4 oz of apple juice and then dump that into your glass with your ice and tequila.

    Step Six

Last, take your bar spoon and stick it into your glass. Carefully and slowly mix together the liquid so that it is thoroughly combined.

Your cocktail is ready, take a sip and enjoy!
