If you love sweet dessert shots then you have to try out this banana cream pie shot. It tastes just like pie in a shot glass.

What is a Banana Cream Pie Shot?

A banana cream pie shot is a combination of RumChata, whipped cream vodka, banana liqueur or creme de banana and half and half. The resulting shot tastes very similar to banana cream pie with a little bit of cinnamon added in. It is a smooth, sweet and creamy shot.

If you love banana cream pie, you should also try out this banana cream pie martini.

Vodka is made by fermenting and then distilling grains such as barley or wheat. It is a clear liquor. Whipped cream vodka is a flavored vodka that has a sweet flavor of vanilla and cream.

Banana liqueur is like other fruit flavored liqueurs. It starts with a neutral base spirit and then is infused with sugar and banana flavorings. Depending on the brand it can be clear, yellow or a creamy yellow color. It is very sweet and full of banana flavor.

RumChata is a liqueur that has a rum base. It is made with rum, cream, sugar and cinnamon. That has a sweet, creamy and smooth flavor that is highlighted with vanilla and cinnamon spices.

    When to Make This Drink:

This fun dessert based shot is great to serve up at many different times such as:

    • drinks with dessert
    • after dinner drinks
    • parties
    • holiday celebrations
    • birthdays

    Variations:

There are several different ways you can change this drink up. Here are a few of them:

    • Add a rim. Use graham crackers on the rim of the glass to amp up the pie flavor.
    • Add a dollop of cream. Squirt some whipped cream on top of the drink to sweeten the shot even more.
    • Turn it into a cocktail. You can multiply the ingredients by two and put this in a rocks glass instead of a shot.
    • Switch out the half and half. You can use milk or heavy cream instead of half and half for this one. Additionally, you could make it dairy-free with something like oat milk. Do you know that changing especially to a dairy-free substitute can change the creaminess of the drink a little bit.

Some other banana flavored drinks are: the banana cow drink, funky monkey drink, and gorilla milk drink.

With only four ingredients, this shot is super easy to make. You can usually whip this one up in 3 minutes or less if you’re not adding any garnishes.
