The Gin and 7up is a super simple and easy to make cocktail. You only need two ingredients to get this one ready to drink. This cocktail tastes similar to a gin fizz, but is quicker to slap together. It’s like a gin fizz on a budget.

What is a Gin & 7up?
Gin and 7up is a simple two ingredient cocktail that has a botanical, fizzy, lemon-lime flavor. It is super refreshing. It is similar in taste to a gin rickey and a gin fizz, but with a fewer ingredients and a lemon-lime flavor combination.
Gin tends to have a botanical taste. It’s main ingredient is juniper berries which have a pine-like taste to them. Gin isn’t particularly sweet or bitter like many other liquors. It has a full bodied flavor filled with herbs, spices and botanicals.
7up is a lemon-lime flavored soda. It is, of course, carbonated or fizzy like other sodas. It has a bit of a stronger lime flavor than lemon flavor. And, though it is sweet, it is not as sweet as some other sodas like Sprite.
The full flavored and refreshing taste of this cocktail makes it a perfect sipper for Spring and Summertime. It is so easy to stir up that it works well for a spur of the moment cocktail, or an easy to make drink for larger get togethers.
This cocktail tastes similar to a vodka and 7up or a Tequila and 7up.
How to make this drink:
This drink doesn’t take much to make. You just need to dump your ingredients into a glass and give them a good stir.
Equipment:
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Gin
- 4 oz 7up
- Ice
- Lemon or Lime Wedge
Instructions:
Step one
When you get started, go ahead and gather your jigger, highball glass, bar spoon, gin and 7up together.
Step two
Next, you need to fill your glass with ice. So, grab some ice and fill it to the top.
Step three
Now, you need to add your gin. Use your jigger and measure 2 oz of gin and pour that into your glass with your ice.
Step four
Next, you need to add your 7up. Use your jigger and measure 4 oz of 7up and pour that into your glass with your ice.
If you don’t want to do an exact measurement with the 7up, you don’t have to. You can simply top the glass off with 7up. A little more won’t hurt the flavor any, but may make the gin flavor a little more subtle.
Step Five
Finally, you want to get everything stirred together. Take your bar spoon and place it into your glass. Stir everything together, but make sure to do so slowly so as to not fizz the soda up too much.
Your drink is ready for sipping!
