What is a gin and cranberry cocktail?
The gin and cranberry cocktail is simply a mix of cranberry juice and Gin. It is an extremely easy cocktail to throw together and tastes delicious.
Gin is a liquor that is made from juniper berries. The juniper berries contribute to its strong pine-like taste. In fact, Gin tastes kind of like biting into nature. The pine-like taste is mixed with a flavor of herbs a little citrus and a bitterness on the back end.
Cranberries and therefore cranberry juice are full of a very tart, sour and almost bitter taste. However, it’s not unpleasant. It’s quite a refreshing sharp flavor.
If you aren’t keen on the intense tartness of pure cranberry juice you make it a cranberry cocktail instead. In fact, some cranberry ” juices” have additional sugar added in to sweeten their flavor as well.
Any of these types of cranberry juices or cocktails work fine for this drink. It just depends on your flavor preferences.
Gin and cranberry juice when mixed together give a slightly tart, bitter and refreshing flavor.
If you’re looking for other similar tasting cranberry cocktails you may also try a tequila and cranberry or a rum and cranberry.
