What is a Vodka and Cream Soda?

A vodka and cream soda is it easy to make two ingredient vodka cocktail. It consists of combining vodka and cream soda and a glass. This cocktail has a rich, sweet and strong vanilla flavor.

Cream soda is a soda that has a strong vanilla flavor. It is of course carbonated or fizzy like most all sodas are. It also has a bit of a creamy flavor. Some people liken it to that of vanilla ice cream.

Vodka is a clear liquor. It is known for being relatively tasteless and when mixed with other ingredients drinks tend to have the flavor of the other ingredients mostly.

Vodka does have a little bit of a burn, bite or spice as it goes down. Though some vodkas are smoother than others. It is common to mix with a single mixer – like in this vodka and orange soda.

A few other cream soda based cocktails are: whiskey and cream soda or rum and cream soda

    Variations

As mentioned above, vodka tends to be relatively flavorless other than it’s bite on the back end. However, vodka does come in multiple different flavors.

if you want to spice up your vodka and cream soda a little, instead of using regular or plain vodka try using one of these:

    • Cherry vodka
    • Vanilla vodka
    • Orange Vodka

    Equipment:

    • highball glass
    • jigger
    • bar spoon

    Ingredients:

    • 2 oz Vodka (vanilla, cherry or regular)
    • 4 oz Cream Soda
    • Ice
    • (optional garnish) cherries

    Instructions:

    Step one

Start out by gathering together your jigger, bar spoon, highball glass, vodka and cream soda.

    Step two

Next, go ahead and fill your highball glass almost to the top with ice.

If you want to add the optional cherry garnish: Go ahead and pop three cherries onto a cocktail pick and then stick that into the side of your glass.

    Step three

Now, take your jigger and measure your vodka. You want 2 oz of vodka whatever variety or flavor you choose.

Go ahead and dump your vodka from your jigger into your glass over your ice.

    Step four

Then, let’s get your cream soda added. Take your jigger once again and measure your cream soda. You want 4 oz total.

Once it’s measured, go ahead and add your cream soda to your glass with your ice and vodka.

Note: if you don’t want to measure the cream soda it doesn’t have to be an exact amount. In fact, if you want to just top the glass off with cream soda you can do so. More cream soda will simply soften the bite of the of the vodka.

    Step Five

Finally, take your bar spoon and put it into your glass. Use it to stir your ingredients together thoroughly. Make sure not to start to vigorously or the soda will fizz up.

Your drink is ready to enjoy!
