Vodka and Mountain Dew: AKA Rocket Fuel

If you’re looking for a sugar charged caffeine filled cocktail then try out vodka mountain dew otherwise known as rocket fuel!

What is a vodka and mountain dew?

It’s no wonder the nickname for this drink is a rocket fuel with all the sugar and caffeine that you can find in neon colored mountain dew.

As you can imagine, ingredients for this drink are simply a vodka and mountain dew.

Vodka is known for its blendable flavor which means that when you mix it with more flavorful items your drink tends to take on the flavor of what you’re mixing it in. So, while you can taste a little bang from your vodka rocket fuel mostly tastes like mountain dew. Which, is a citrusy sweet flavor.

If you’re not into vodka, you might try gin and mountain dew, whiskey and mountain dew, jager and mountain dew or rum and mountain dew.

And, if regular mountain dew is not your favorite, you can certainly make some variations on the strength by using some of their other flavor variations such as code red or Baja blast.

How to make this drink:

This super simple drink is as easy as pouring two ingredients into a glass and giving it a stir.

Equipment:

• highball glass
• jigger
• bar spoon

Ingredients:

• 2 oz vodka
• 4 oz mountain dew
• 1 lemon or lime wedge

Instructions:

Step one

After gathering all of your ingredients and equipment together, fill your highball glass full of ice.

Step two

Get your garnish ready by cutting a small wedge from either a lemon or lime. Either works well to accentuate the citrus flavor of the mountain dew.

Place the wedge on the rim of your glass.

Step three

take your jigger, and measure 2 oz of vodka. For your vodka into your highball glass over your ice.

Step four

Next, measure 4 oz of mountain dew and pour that into your highball glass over your eyes. This doesn’t this doesn’t have to be exact. The more mountains dew you pour the less vodka you will taste.

If you don’t want to measure your mountain dew, you can certainly just add it to the glass until it fills to the top.

Step Five

Take your bar spoon slowly give your drink a little stir to mix the vodka and mountain dew and you are ready to take off!
