If you’re looking for a fun and festive cocktail for your next big celebration, the blushing Bride drink is a must serve. This bright red fizzy and sweet cocktail is sure to please your guests.
What is a Blushing Bride Drink?
A blushing bride drink is a combination of champagne, peach schnapps and grenadine served in a champagne flute. The resulting cocktail is a super sweet, fizzy peach flavored cocktail that has a light and smooth cherry flavor on the back end.
Grenadine is a bright red syrup. It has a strong sweet pomegranate flavor. However, oftentimes the flavor is described as cherry-like.
Peach schnapps is a clear liqueur. It is around 15% alcohol by volume, so a little lower on the alcohol percentage. It has an extremely sweet and strong peach flavor.
Champagne comes in many different flavors dependent on the types of grapes or other fruits used to make it. It is essentially a sparkling wine. It tends to be sweet and bubbly.
When to serve this drink
With its festive bubbles and bright red color, this drink works well for a variety of different celebratory occasions such as:
- weddings
- Valentine’s Day
- bachelor or bachelorette parties
- brunch
Drink variations
This cocktail is not a standardized cocktail and therefore there are several different ingredient variations you can use. A few are:
- elderberry liqueur. If you like more floral tasting drink, add in some elderberry liqueur. This can be in addition to or in substitute of the grenadine.
- try different champagnes. For this one we used prosecco which is a more dry champagne leading to really emphasizing the peach flavor from the schnapps. But you could certainly use any champagne you prefer.
- add a garnish. A few pomegranate seeds or even a slice of peach if you want to emphasize some of the flavors in the cocktail work well.
- add vodka. If you want a stronger cocktail you can add plain vodka or even a sweeter vodka such as vanilla vodka.
If you like champagne based drinks, also try: the French 75, the orange creamsicle mimosa, the passion fruit mimosa or the thug passion drink.
