What is an Ice Pick Drink?

An ice pick drink is a combination of iced tea, vodka, a little simple syrup and some lemon. It’s flavor is mainly the iced tea with a lemon and a little bite of the alcohol in the Vodka at the tail end.

Vodka tends to have a reputation for being a rather tasteless liquor. It does have a strong bite from the alcohol as it goes down. If you want a smoother vodka experience you’ll want to get a mid to upper price range vodka.

    Occasions to serve it

The drink is super easy to whip up and is perfect for most any spring or summer occasion. Just some of the occasions you might want to serve this at are:

    • Afternoon sipping on your front porch
    • Pool parties
    • Backyard barbecues
    • Anytime in the South because they love sweet tea.

    Variations

This drink is perfect with just regular vodka and regular iced tea you can spice it up to have some flavor variations. Some options are:

    • Strawberry lemonade vodka
    • Citron Vodka
    • Peach Vodka
    • Sweet Tea Vodka
    • Use a flavored Iced tea

Some similar Vodka based highballs are: Vodka and Lemonade, Vodka and 7up and Vodka and Sprite.

    How to make this drink:

This ice pick drink is relatively easy to mix up. You only need a few ingredients and it’s ready to go. If you want to make it even faster, use pre-made iced tea instead of making your own.

Pour your drink from your cocktail shaker through the strainer into your highball glass.

    Step Nine

To add your lemon wedge garnish, take a lemon and cut it into slices. Then, cut a notch in the lemon either in the middle of the pulp or between the pulp and the peel. Then, place the lemon wedge on the rim of the glass using the notch you cut to help hold it.

With that your drink is ready to enjoy!
