☕ What is a Oreo Hot Chocolate?

Oreo hot chocolate is it delicious combination of cocoa powder, milk, granulated sugar and crumbled Oreo cookies topped with a large amount of whipped cream. This delicious warm chocolatey beverage is full of Oreo flavor and is a thick and rich hot chocolate.

Oreos are a classic and well-known sandwich cookie. If, somehow, you’re not familiar they are two chocolate cookies with a rich creme filling in between (source).

Making flavored hot chocolates is a fun and fancy twist that is easy to do. Most are made in the same way this one is where you just add an additional ingredient to create the flavor. Some other flavored hot chocolates include Butterfinger hot chocolate, orange hot chocolate and biscoff hot chocolate.

As if you still aren’t convinced, here are some of the reasons this recipe works so well:

    • Oreos, duh. I mean, hello, Oreos are delicious! So, Oreos combined with extra chocolate and heated up who wouldn’t want to taste of that?
    • Only four ingredients. This is super easy to make. You only need four simple ingredients and about 10 minutes to heat them together.
    • Decadent and fancy. This drink is super decadent, extra rich and looks fancy too. It makes it perfect for casual sipping or to serve at celebrations and parties.

    When to Make This Drink:

This is a great and versatile beverage. Here are just a few times to consider making it:

    • Dessert
    • Birthdays
    • Cold days
    • Celebrations

    Variations:

If you’re looking for a few different flavor variations or ingredient modifications, consider these options:

    • Add more chocolate. You could add up to a quarter cup of cocoa powder to make this super extra chocolatey.
    • You the dairy-free milk. Make this an oat milk hot chocolate or other dairy-free milk alternative.
    • Skip the sugar. Oreos and themselves are already super sweet. So if you want to tone down the sugar some skip the granulated sugar all together.
    • Add more milk. The Oreos and cream when melted create a very, very thick drink. If you need to thin it out a little you can add some more milk in.
    • Use flavored Oreos. Spice it up even more by adding flavored Oreos instead of original Oreos. Some flavor options include toffee, chocolate hazelnut, Java chip, birthday cake and lemon cream.
