The Toasted almond drink is a perfect winter holiday sipper. It is a decadent and creamy plus easy to make cocktail.
What is a Toasted Almond Drink?
The toasted almond drink tastes like a very creamy eggnog filled with strong hints of toasted almonds. There are a few hints of coffee as well as chocolate flavor from the kahlua. You do get a little bite from the Amaretto at the very end as well.
This drink gets its almond flavor of course from the amaretto. Which is a almond liqueur with other flavors in it as well.
The creaminess comes from both the Kahlua and the heavy cream.
And when all combined together you get a creamy decadent almond, eggnog flavor.
This drink is full of creamy decadence. For a cozy winter night or winter holiday festivities. The hint of nutmeg garnish on the top is the perfect addition to really emphasize the flavors.
This drink is similar to a white russian. So some of the ingredients are similar, some are also the same and both are dessert drinks.
Similar creamy Kahlua cocktails include the brown cow and a sombrero drink.
How to make this drink:
This drink is dangerously easy to make. It’s dangerous because you might want to make several.
- 2 oz Amaretto
- 2 oz Kahula
- 2 oz heavy cream
Grab your shaker, jigger, rocks glass and ingredients.
Fill your rock’s glass as well as your shaker full of ice.
Using your jigger measure 2 oz of Kahlua and dump it into your cocktail shaker over your ice
Using your jigger once more measure 2 oz of amaretto and add that to your cocktail shaker with your ice and Kahlua.
Take 2 oz of heavy cream, measured with your jigger, and add that to your Shaker with your kahlua, ice, and amaretto.
Grab the top of your Shaker and place it on your shaker. Shaker Shaker for 15 to 20 seconds. It should be cold to the touch on the outside of the Shaker when you are finished.
Next, remove the top of your shaker. Now, place your Hawthorne strainer over the top of your cocktail shaker.
Pour the contents of the shaker, minus the ice, from the Shaker into your rock’s glass.
Grab your nutmeg and sprinkle a little on top as garnish.
Now you’re ready to get to sipping!
Toasted Almond Shot
- Hawthorne strainer
- cocktail shaker
- shot glass
- 2 oz Amaretto
- 2 oz Kahula
- 2 oz Heavy Cream
- Fill your cocktail shaker up with ice.
- Using your jigger, measure 2 oz of Amaretto and pour into shaker.
- Using your jigger, measure 2 oz of Kahula and pour into shaker.
- Using your jigger, measure 2 oz of Heavy Cream and pour into shaker.
- Cover your shaker with the top and shake it well. Usually about 15 or 20 seconds.
- Uncover the shaker and then place the Hawthorne strainer over the shaker.
- Strain the shot into your shot glass.
- Sprinkle some Nutmeg on top.
