Next time you want something easy and delicious, make yourself a nice cold Vodka and Coke cocktail. The sweet fizz of coke blends seamlessly with the smooth vodka. And, with only two ingredients, you can stir this up in just a few minutes.

What is a Vodka and Coke?
A vodka and coke is exactly what it sounds like – an easy two ingredient vodka cocktail that is made by combining Coca Cola with your favorite vodka. The crisp bite of a high quality vodka blends perfectly with the smooth, sweet flavor of Coke.
In fact, there may not be a more popular mixer with any liquor than Coca Cola. Some of our favorites are Rum & Coke, Gin & Coke, Whiskey & Coke, and these are just a few cocktails with Coke that are popular.
This is a go to drink for parties, small get togethers, and even quiet dinners at home. The recipe is quick and simple. You’ll make your drink and be kicked back relaxing in no time flat!
Ingredients
- Vodka – we like to use a mid to top shelf vodka like Stoli.
- Coke – any kind, we prefer Coke Zero.
- Ice
- Lime Wedge – optional garnish
Instructions
This is a super quick and simple drink. Follow these easy four steps to stir one up for yourself.
Step One
Pull out your favorite highball glass and fill it to the top with ice.
Step Two
Pour in 2 oz of your favorite vodka.
Step Three
Top off the glass with 4 oz of Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, or any other cola you prefer.
Step Four
Use a bar spoon or tumbler to gently mix them together. Rim your glass with a lime wedge and enjoy!
Variations
- Use Flavored Vodka – add a little flavor variation to this drink by using a flavored vodka. Some of our favorites are vanilla vodka, whipped cream vodka and cherry vodka.
- Different Coke – you can use any type of Coke for this drink including regular, caffeine free or diet. You can even try out flavored cokes like Cherry Coke.
- A little fruit – adding a splash of lemon or lime juice, or simple a squeeze from your garnish adds a nice citrus zing.
Mixing Tips
- Use mid to top shelf vodka – since this drink only has two ingredients, using a low quality vodka can take some of the smoothness out of the drink.
- Don’t shake it – often times cocktails are shaken to mix them up, but due to the large amount of soda that will cause this drink to fizz all over. Use a bar spoon and stir instead.
- Don’t make in advance – while you CAN technically make this in advance of serving, the Coke will go flat and that causes the drink to loose some of it’s appeal. So, make this right when you are ready to serve it for max fizziness.
