🥂 What is a Blue Lagoon Mocktail?

A blue lagoon mocktail is a combination of non-alcoholic blue Curacao, lemonade and club soda. It is typically served with an orange slice and or a lemon twist. This bright blue drink is bursting with sweet bubbly lemonade flavor and has a little hint of citrus.

The bright blue color is from the blue curacao. That is used in many similar blue mocktails like the ocean water drink and the blue hawaiian mocktail.

This mocktail is like the perfect slice of Summer. With its refreshing, slightly mouth puckering flavor and bright color.

Here are a few reasons why you will love this mocktail:

    • So easy to make. You only need three simple ingredients for the strength. You should be able to stir it together in 5 minutes or less.
    • Brilliantly bright. This bright blue beverage is bursting with color. It makes a perfect drink to serve if you want something to be eye-catching at your next party.
    • Perfect for summer. This mocktail is super refreshing and it is perfect to serve at any summer occasion.

⭐ When to Make This Drink

It’s easy to make, three ingredient mocktail is well suited for any spring or summer event including:

    • Afternoon sipping
    • Pool parties
    • Beach days
    • Barbecues

    📖 Variations

Check out the below ideas if you’re looking for possible ingredient substitutions or slight flavor variations:

    • Add a little sweetness. If you’d like to balance out the tart of the lemonade, you can add a little extra sweetness by adding .5 to 1 ounces of simple syrup. Crank it up and notch further by using a flavored simple syrup such as orange simple syrup or lemon simple syrup.
    • Replace the club soda. Use a lemon lime soda such as Sprite instead of club soda if you want to capitalize on the citrus flavor of this mocktail. Additionally, you can add a little more Sprite and a little less lemonade if you want to have a sweeter more fizzy flavor.
    • Make it for a crowd. Multiply all the ingredients by six times and add this to a picture or punch bowl to serve this at a large get together.
    • Skip the ice. Don’t want it to get watered down? Skip the ice, but make sure to thoroughly chill all of the ingredients before you start making the drink.
    • Use a flavored seltzer water. Add a little extra flavor to this drink by using an orange or lemon flavored seltzer water.

    • bar spoon
    • highball glass or Hurricane Glass
    • cocktail shaker (optional)
    • Hawthorne strainer (optional)
Prevent your screen from going dark

    Ingredients

    • 1 oz Blue curaçao (non-alcoholic)
    • 5 oz Lemonade
    • 2 oz Club Soda
    • Orange Slice and/or Lemon Twist (optional garnish)
    • Ice

    Instructions

    • Fill the glass up with ice so that it is filled to the top.
    • Use the jigger to measure 1 oz of non-alcoholic Blue Curacao. Then, pour that into the glass.
Note: instead of using oz to measure, you can add 2 tbs.
    • Use the jigger to measure 2 oz of Club soda. Then, pour that into the glass.
Note: instead of measuring with the jigger, you can add 4 tbs or ¼ cup.
    • Use the jigger to measure 4 or 5 oz of lemonade. Then, pour that into the glass.
Note: instead of measuring, you can just top the glass off with lemonade.
    • Use a bar spoon to mix everything together well.

Orange Slice or Lemon Twist Garnish

    • If you'd like to add a garnish, now is the time.
      1) To add an orange slice: cut an orange into slices. Cut a notch in the pulp of the orange and secure it on the rim of the glass.
      2) To add a lemon twist: Cut a lemon into wheels. Then, cut the pulp away from the rind on one wheel. Cut the rind in one spot so that it is a a straight line. Cut away any additional pulp. Twist the lemon rind around a cocktail pick and hold for a few seconds. Then, remove and add to the rim of the glass.

    Notes

Garnishes:  these are optional in this drink.
Measurements:  a jigger is really nice to use and have to measure in ounces.  However, if you don’t have one you can use Tbs and cups.
    • 1 oz non-alcoholic blue curacao is 2 tbs
    • 2 oz of club soda is 4 Tbs or ¼ cup
    • 4 oz of lemonade is ½ cup
    Variations:
    • you can play around with adding more lemonade and less club soda or vice versa depending on how strong of a citrus flavor you want.
