Jager and Dr Pepper sometimes called the Dr. Jager is a delicious, licorice and spicy flavored cocktail. The complex flavors of the Dr. Pepper and Jager mixes perfectly with the soda fizz for a refreshing sipping drink.
What is a Jager and Dr. Pepper?
A Dr. Jager otherwise known as a Jager and Dr Pepper is a simple cocktail that has a spicy, fizzy licorice flavor. It is made from Dr Pepper and Jagermeister.
Jagermeister is a German liqueur. It has a high alcohol volume for a liqueur at around 35%.
Jager has a very complex almost herbal like flavor. But the dominant notes in Jager tend to be a anise and licorice flavors.
Dr pepper, as it’s tagline says, is 23 different flavors all in one drink. It is also fizzy from the carbonation like all other sodas. It has strong flavors of cherry, cola, allspice, vanilla and licorice as well as others.
This drink is super simple to make and is great for a variety of different occasions. It works well for after work drinks, informal get togethers, college parties or any celebration.
How to make this drink:
If you’ve got 2 minutes and two ingredients and you can whip this drink right up. Really it is simple to make and just involves a little stirring.
- 2 oz Jager
- 4 oz Dr. Pepper
- optional cherry garnish
Start this drink out by making sure that you have your Dr pepper, jager, bar spoon, jigger and highball glass ready to go.
If you want to add an optional cherry garnish, toss three cherries on a cocktail pick and stick it in your glass.
Then, make sure you have your ice ready to go in your glass. You’ll want to make sure that your glass is almost full to the top with ice.
Get ready to add your Jager to your drink. Do this by taking your jigger and measuring 2 oz of jager.
Then, pour your Jager into your highball glass over your ice.
Next, get ready to add your Dr Pepper to your drink. Do this by taking your jigger and measuring 4 oz of Dr pepper.
Then, pour your Dr Pepper into your highball glass over your ice.
Tip: for this drink it’s not essential to have exactly 4 oz of Dr pepper. If you don’t want to measure it out you can simply top your glass off with Dr pepper. The more Dr Pepper you use the less strong the Jager flavor will be.
Finally, you want to make sure everything is mixed well. You can do this by using your bar spoon. Put your bar spoon in your glass and give everything a couple stirs.
Make sure to not stir too fast or too hard as this could cause the Dr Pepper to fizz up.

- Grab everything you need include the bar spoon, glass, jigger, dr pepper and jager.
- Grab some ice and your glass and fill your glass with ice.
- If you want to add an optional cherry garnish toss three cherries on a cocktail pick and add it to your glass.
- With your jigger measure out 2 oz of Jager and then pour it into your glass.
- With your jigger measure out 4 oz of Dr. Pepper and then pour it into your glass.Note; It doesn't have to be exactly 4 oz, so if you want to just top the glass off instead of using a jigger, you can.
- With your bar spoon stir everything together well.
