What is a Tree Smacker Drink?

A tree smacker drink is a combination of Apple pucker, Peach schnapps, white rum, dark rum, grenadine, pineapple juice, orange juice and 151 rum. The resulting cocktail is a gradient of orange and red colors. And is bursting with fruit flavors.

This cocktail is a little bit on the stronger end as it contains three types of rum and two liqueurs. Most of the ingredients you can tell their flavors just by their name. For example, apple pucker is a sour apple flavor and peach schnapps is a sweet peach flavor.

Of note, 151 rum is a rum that is 151 proof. That is an extremely high alcohol content. But, you don’t use a ton of it for this recipe just a floater on top.

The red gradient color of this cocktail comes from the grenadine. Grenadine is a bright red very sweet syrup. It is made from pomegranates, but most people would describe the flavor as almost cherry like.

You could even make a pitcher of this simply by multiplying the ingredients by three or four times. It would make the perfect cocktail to serve at a large party.

When should you serve this cocktail?

Bursting with tropical fruit flavors and bright beautiful colors this cocktail is perfect for several different spring and summery occasions. Here are a few ideas for one to serve it:

    • A day at the beach
    • Poolside gatherings
    • Afternoon brunch
    • Tropical vacations

    Instructions:

    Step one

Start by making sure you have everything ready to go. Gather together your pineapple juice, orange juice, grenadine, 151, white rum, dark rum, Apple pucker, Peach schnapps, shaker, strainer, jigger and highball glass.

    Step two

You’ll next want to make sure that you have your Shaker and glass filled with ice. Fill them both up almost completely full.

    Step three

Using your jigger, measure out 1.5 oz of peach schnapps. Go ahead and dump your peach schnapps into your shaker.

    Step four

Use your jigger to measure out 1.5 oz of Apple pucker. Go ahead and dump your Apple pucker into your shaker.

    Step Five

Use your jigger to measure at 1.5 oz of white rum. Dump your white rum into your shaker.

    Step Six

Use your jigger to measure 1.5 oz of dark rum. Dump your dark rum into your shaker.

    Step Seven

Use your jigger to measure .5 oz of pineapple juice. Dump the pineapple juice into your Shaker as well.

    Step Eight

Finally, use your jigger to measure .5 oz of orange juice. Add the orange juice into your Shaker with everything else.

    Step Nine

Then, shake everything up. You want to make sure you secure the top of your Shaker with its lid first. Shake it about 15 or 20 seconds or until the outside of the Shaker is icy.

    Step Ten

To get it in your glass, remove the Shaker lid. Then, place the strainer on top of your shaker. For all the contents from your Shaker into your glass.

    Step Eleven

Grab your grenadine and put a couple dashes into your drink. That will sink towards the bottom and add a red gradient color.

    Step Twelve

Then, get about .25 oz of 151 and toss that on the top of the drink.

Now your drink is ready for sippin. Enjoy!
