    Jump to Recipe

This walk me down drink is a vibrant blue cocktail that is chock full of several different liquors. Be careful with this one as it really packs a punch.

What is a Walk Me Down Drink?

The walk me down drink is a combination of white rum, vodka, gin, tequila, simple syrup, lemon juice, triple sec, lemon lime soda and blue curacao. This bright blue cocktail has a sweet and fizzy taste start which is followed by a sour citrus twist with a strong bite of alcohol as it goes down.

This drink is similar to other drinks that are in the Long Island iced tea family. For example, the adios motherfucker simply has no triple sec. And the Tokyo tea has Midori instead of blue curaçao.

The majority of the alcohol content in this drink comes from the rum, vodka, gin and tequila. All four are clear liquors.

Tequila, vodka and rum tend to have a lightly sweet and spicy flavor while gin has a more of a botanical flavor. Since there are so many ingredients in this drink, you don’t need to go top shelf with the liquors.

The sweet citrus flavor comes from the lemon juice, simple syrup, blue curacao and triple sec. Triple sec and Blue curaçao are both orange liqueurs. The main difference is that blue curacao is the bright blue color you see in this drink.

    When to Make This Drink:

With it sweet and sour citrus flavor and bright blue color this cocktail can be served at times including:

    • college parties
    • bachelor and bachelorette parties
    • summer celebrations

    Variations:

Here are a few ideas if you would like to change his drink up a little:

    • Use sweet and sour mix. Instead of using lemon juice and simple syrup, you can use store-bought sweet and sour mix.
    • Crank up the alcohol. You can use 1 oz of everything and then top with Sprite which will make a stronger drink.
    • Substitute the triple sec. There are other orange liqueurs you can use such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau instead of triple sec.
