What is a amaretto and dr pepper?

An amaretto and Dr pepper sometimes known as an alcoholic Dr pepper is exactly what it sounds like. It is a mix of Dr pepper and amaretto.

There are several other cocktails that use this mix but add other ingredients such as a Flaming Dr pepper shot and a Dirty Dr pepper. But, if you’re looking for something super simple and easy to throw together then the regular amaretto and Dr pepper should be your go-to.

Amaretto is an almond flavored liqueur that is made from apricots. It is known for it slightly bitter flavor. It also includes flavors of vanilla and hints of other spices.

Dr pepper is something you have to really taste to understand the flavor of. As noted in it’s tagline, it is a combination of 23 different flavors. It has a very strong almost cherry spice flavor. It is mixed with other notes like cinnamon and licorice.

If Amaretto is not your favorite liqueur, you might try mixing other liquors with your Dr pepper like Whiskey and Dr pepper, Jager and Dr. Pepper or Brandy and Dr pepper.

    How to make this drink:

Like other two ingredient cocktails this one is also super easy to make. It’s just a matter of tossing your two liquids into your glass and giving them a stir.

    Equipment:

    • bar spoon

    Ingredients:

    • 2 oz Amaretto
    • 4 oz Dr Pepper
    • Lime wedge

    Instructions:

    Step one

When you’re getting ready to start making this drink, the first thing you’ll want to do is ensure that you have your ingredients and equipment ready to go.

    Step two

Before you get to mixing, get your garnish ready. To do this, grab your lime and cut it into wedges.

Then, take one wedge and place it on the rim of your glass. To make this easier you may want to slice a little slice between part of the fruit and the rind so that it fits easily on the rim.

    Step three

Next, you want to get your glass ready. To do this, simply fill it full of ice.

    Step four

Now, take your jigger, and measure 2 oz of amaretto.

Slowly pour your Amaretto into your highball glass over your ice.

    Step Five

Now, again using your jigger, measure 4 oz of Dr pepper. Pour this Dr pepper into your highball glass with your amaretto and ice.

If you would like to use more than 4 oz of Dr pepper feel free. The more Dr pepper you use the less you’ll taste the amaretto.

You can also use a little less Dr pepper if you’d like. However, this is not likely to give you a full glass of liquid.

    Step Six

As your final step, take your bar spoon and give your drink a stir. Make sure that you thoroughly combined both liquids.

And now, you’re ready to enjoy!
