Amaretto and mountain dew otherwise known as a jolly dew is a great, refreshing cocktail. This drink is perfect for sipping on your front porch in the summer.

What is an Amaretto and Mountain Dew?

Amaretto and mountain dew is exactly what it sounds like it’s a cocktail made from two simple ingredients. Those ingredients, of course, are amaretto and mountain dew.

amaretto is a almond flavored liqueur which has hints of spices and vanilla. It does tend to have a bit of a bitter aftertaste.

Mountain dew, as you may already know, is a very sweet citrusy soda. It is also packed with caffeine.

When mixed together you get a very sweet citrusy drink with a hint of almond.

Our go to is always regular mountain dew. However, mountain dew does have a ton of different variations such as Baja blast and code red so if you want to mix your flavors up you can certainly use one of these as well.

Mountain Dew makes a great mixer. You can also try a tequila and mountain dew or Jager and mountain dew or rum and mountain dew to name a few.

How to make this drink:

This is a super duper simple cocktail to make. All you have to do is toss your two ingredients together and stir them up.

2 oz Amaretto
4 oz Mountain dew
Lemon or lime wedge

Instructions:

Step one

First things first, gather together your ingredients and equipment so that you are ready to get started.

Step two

First, you want to prep your garnish. Choose either lemon or lime as your garnish. Then you will simply cut the fruit into wedges and place one wedge on the rim of your glass.

Step three

Next, grab your highball glass and fill it almost to the top with ice.

Step four

Use your jigger and measure 2 oz of amaretto. Take that and pour it into your highball glass over the ice.

Step Five

Now, again using your jigger, measure out 4 oz of mountain dew and you will again pour that into your highball glass over the ice and amaretto.

You don’t actually have to be super precise with your mountain dew. The more mountain deq you add the less you’ll taste the amaretto. So, feel free to experiment with the amount of mountain dew that tastes best for you.

Step Six

To finish your drink up, gently use your bar spoon to thoroughly mix the mountain dew and amaretto together.

Sit back, take a sip and enjoy!
