📖 Variations
One of the fun and fabulous things about this fruity frozen drink is that it is easy to customize. Try out a couple of these different flavor modifications and ingredient substitutions to make it suit your tastes perfectly:
- Use actual bananas. Instead of using banana liqueur substitute that for one fresh, very ripe banana.
- Cut out the ice. You can either reduce or cut the ice out altogether if you freeze your banana instead of using an unfrozen one. This will lend to a smoother, creamier drink that is less watered down.
- Substitute the simple syrup. Add a little extra flavor to this drink by using a flavored simple syrup. A couple of good options are coconut syrup or banana syrup.
- Add extra fruit flavor. You can make this even fruitier by adding other fruit flavor. Do this by adding a half ounce of orange juice or a few additional fresh fruits such as strawberries or pineapple.
- Use tequila. Make this a frozen banana margarita by using tequila instead of rum.
- Add a decadent garnish. You can make this even sweeter by adding a decadent garnish such as whipped cream, caramel syrup or chocolate syrup.
