What is a Carajillo?
A Carajillo Is a combination of cold espresso and 43 licor. Is a cold coffee drink that tastes like super sweet vanilla coffee.
Though this coffee cocktail is popular in Spain and other Latin American countries, don’t confuse it with the Spanish coffee which has several different ingredients in it.
This coffee infused drink is like any other spiked coffee such as amaretto coffee or Brandy coffee. It is a sweet and dessert like cocktail.
You can either make your own espresso or buy it pre-made from a store. However, if you don’t have espresso, you can use a super strong coffee.
Licor 43 is a Spanish liqueur that originated in the 1940s. It gets the 43 and its name for the 43 different spices and herbs that are used to make it. Is a yellow color liqueur that is known for having a very sweet and strong vanilla flavor.

How to make this drink:
With only two ingredients just one is pretty simple to make. Especially if you buy the espresso at the store, you can whip this one up in 2 minutes or less. If you have to make your own espresso you might need to give yourself about 10 minutes.

- 3 oz Espresso (cooled)
- 2 oz Licor 43
- Ice
Instructions:
Step one
Collect everything you need for this drink including rocks glass, bar spoon, ice, licor 43 and cold espresso.
Step two
Toss some ice into the rocks glass until the rocks glass is filled to the top.
Step three
Take the licor 43 and the jigger. Measure out 2 oz of licor 43 and toss it into the rocks glass.
Step four
Take the jigger and cold espresso. Measure out 3 to 4 oz of espresso and add it to the rocks glass.
Pro tip: alternatively, you can just pour the espresso directly into the glass until the glass is full.
Step Five
Make sure everything is well combined by sticking the bar spoon in your glass and stirring it a few times.

Ingredients
- 3 oz Espresso (cooled)
- 2 oz Licor 43
- Ice
Instructions
- Make a cup of espresso – or you can buy some. Allow it to cool some.
- Toss some ice in the glass until it reaches the top of the glass.
- Use the jigger and measure 2 oz of Licor 43. Pour the Licor 43 into the glass.
- Use the jigger and measure 3 oz of Espresso. Pour the Espresso into the glass.Note: if desired, you can add the espresso straight into the glass, but this will likely end up being an ounce or two more.
- Use a bar spoon to gently stir the drink together.
